We recently hosted one of our weekly Coffee Break webinars with Bob Macauley from Xcel Energy regarding rebates to owners. Bob has been with Xcel for over 20 years and is an incredible resource for all things energy within the Denver market. The information he shared was not just helpful to the LONG team but can be vital to engineers and building owners when laying out and designing systems. 

For LONG, the equipment we choose to carry in the specifications and schedules on our projects can make a significant impact on the bottom line of the job. One surprising thing that Bob touched upon was how many different types of equipment qualify for rebates, and how much of that equipment variety we supply. No matter the project, we provide energy efficient HVAC equipment so we can keep our customers within budget and saving money. We also aim to be apprised of all potential rebates for HVAC equipment so we can pass that information on to our customers.

Xcel Energy Rebates on HVAC Equipment

Here are a few specifics Bob discussed:

• Through 8/31/23, Xcel is offering 50% rebates on all qualifying HVAC equipment
• You can earn fixed rebates for purchasing qualifying energy-efficient cooling equipment such as
  • Water cooled centrifugal chillers
  • Water cooled scroll or rotary screw chillers
  • VFD's on chillers
  • Direct-evaporative pre-cooling for air-cooled condensers (DEPACC)
• The types of HVAC equipment that no longer qualify for rebates for commercial customers
