2020 Endowment Fund Recipients

Each year, the LONG Endowment Fund provides support for community agencies in Alaska, Colorado, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Causes that receive consideration are those that serve children, those in need, and organizations that improve our environment.

This year, LONG has made the following recipients of awards for the 2020 Endowment Fund:

Alaska 

Beacon Hill
Beacon Hill exists to serve Alaska’s children in foster care and children at risk of going into foster care. Their purpose is to support, serve and encourage vulnerable children within the community. Their dream is to see all children in their community loved and well cared for in healthy homes.

Colorado

Tri County Food Pantry
Feed the needy and underprivileged, assistance to families with a permanent or temporary need to feed them.

Advocates for Children CASA 
Providing local abused and neglected children with support as they navigate the child welfare system.

Brent’s Place
A long-term home away from home for children and families with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. They provide clean, safe housing for families of children who are in the hospital for extended periods of time.

Rocky Mountain Honor Flight
Fly World War II and terminally ill Veterans to Washington D.C. to visit the monuments and memorials dedicated to their service.

American Legion Riders
To serve the Veteran community as well as the county. Assists with Christmas gifts for those families of veterans in need or deployed locally.

STRIVE Prep
Providing a high quality education and youth development opportunities to some of Denver’s highest need families.

Project Angel Heart
Project Angel Heart has a mission to deliver nutritious meals to improve quality of life, at no cost, for those coping with life-threatening illness. This was a favorite charity of Wills Long and this donation is made again in his memory

St. Labre Indian School
Provides rooms for children to live in if they are more than 40 miles away from school. Provides 3 meals a day, heating and transportation.

Montana

Montana Home and Private Schools (MHPS)
Providing scholarships for low income families. A scholarship pays for a year of an activity or course for a child by providing curriculum for children.

Oregon

Stuff the Bus
For the past 13 years, Camas and Washougal students have worked with the Camas Washougal Business Alliance to provide food and programs in our communities. Last year the kids raided more than 75,000 pounds of food that provided gift baskets over the Holidays and food all year long to the Children's Home Society's East County Family Resource Center and the Interfaith Treasure House.

Utah

Camp Hobe
Camp Hobe is a special summer camp designed for children with cancer and their siblings, who are often forgotten in the cancer experience. Camp Hobe gives kids the opportunity to participate in camp activities just like healthy children whose families are not affected by cancer. The camp program provides medical and psychosocial supervision to ensure children are safe, both mentally and physically.

Washington

Covington Domestic Violence Task Force
Providing support to victims and families who are in a domestic violent situation. Program provides nights at hotels, funds for transportation such as gas cards, train and/or bus tickets, as well as other resources. 

Wyoming

Hunting with Heroes
Allows disabled veterans the ability to hunt in Wyoming. A community where they can discover hope again, no matter what battles they continue to fight physically or emotionally.

Habitat for Humanity - The Heart of Wyoming
The Heart of Wyoming partners with current and future homeowners to build safe, decent, and affordable housing for low-income families in Natrona County, WY.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace
Dedicated to building, assembling and delivering beds to children in need of a place to lay their heads. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters Progressive Youth Casper
Mentoring children within Natrona County and providing support academically.
