The Objective
Denargo Market 3, located in Denver, Colorado, is a mixed-use site that offers both residential and commercial spaces. During its construction, LONG’s Architectural Team was selected to install both composite metal panels and single skin metal panels. These panels are key to achieving a functional aesthetic for the building. Not only would they need to maintain the urban environment and highlight the building’s architectural features, but they’d provide weather-resistant protection as well.

The Challenges
As with all architectural projects, there are unique obstacles that will arise due to a variety of factors: the building’s size, location, construction schedule, and more. At the start of the project, our team had to consider the following challenges for this project:
- Complexity of Panel Installation: As the project required two different types of panels – composite and single skin – their installation had to be seamless across a variety of building sections.
- Height and Accessibility: The panels needed to be installed from the ground floor up to the 8th floor of the building. This required careful planning and the use of specialized equipment to ensure the precision of the installation and the safety of workers.
- Aesthetic Consistency: The panels not only had to match each other but the rest of the building’s exterior design as well, achieving a cohesive, seamless look.
- Weather Protection: Due to Denver’s climate, the panels had be durable enough to withstand the harsh seasonal elements and protect the building.
The Solutions
Our team managed the full project from start to finish, considering the initial challenges and using their flexibility and resourcefulness to adapt to others as they arose. They worked closely with our partners at DAMs Incorporated and Berridge, collaborating to source the right metal panels to achieve the aesthetic and functional goals. The composite metal panels serve as key elements, complimenting the sleek, modern look of the building. Single skin metal panels were installed on the rest of the exterior, covering multiple sides of the building from the 1st to 8th floor. We employed high-reaching equipment to install the panels and made sure our team followed strict safety protocols while adhering to the project timeline and budget. After installation, LONG ensured the panels were precisely positioned for weather resistance and appearance.
Results
- Aesthetic Appeal: The combination of composite and single skin metal panels creates a visually striking, seamless appearance that complements the building’s modern look.
- Durability: The panels provide long-lasting protection to the building’s exterior, ensuring it can withstand harsh weather conditions that will stand the test of time.
- Efficiency in Installation: By recognizing the initial challenges to installation, our team was able to plan and execute the work with precision and within the project timeline.
