Webster Combustion’s Boiler Burners
Boiler burners for Commercial/Light Industrial, Industrial, Heavy Industrial Applications
Webster Combustion has been a leading manufacturer of custom and semi-custom multi-fuel boiler burners for the commercial, institutional and industrial markets for over 100 years. Our burners combine advanced controls with proven combustion performance to provide heat for the transformation of water to potable hot water, hot water for heating, and steam for heating and process applications. For over a century, Webster has helped customers reduce emission levels and provided higher efficiencies for both new and existing boiler systems. Webster’s pledge is to provide quality products and service through the use of innovative technologies, cutting edge manufacturing, and a world-class customer experience.
Webster Boiler Burners Reduce Energy Costs for Commercial Buildings

In new applications and retrofits alike, specifying engineers and mechanical consultants specializing in hospitals, schools, and other commercial buildings are constantly looking to drive down costs by improving energy efficiency for their clients’ steam boilers. Boilers in these applications produce steam and require high turndown and short ROI on their equipment purchases.
Webster’s JBE(X) boiler burner is a high efficiency, low excess air burner that incorporates a unique high swirl firing head to achieve boiler horsepower ratings in the 200 to 1,750 HP range using less fuel and electricity than conventional burners.
Ultra-Low-NOx Burner Reduces Emissions Without the Use of FGR
Webster’s JBFX Series burner can achieve single-digit ultra-low NOx emissions in boilers without the use of Flue Gas Recirculation (FGR). JBFX ultra-low NOx burners utilize fiber mesh, surface combustion technology that covers a range from 10HP up to 1,000HP. The JBFX operates by premixing fuel and air to precise levels, which ensures complete combustion with very low levels of NOx, CO and unburned hydrocarbons. The firing head is made of a proven all metallic fiber mesh that guarantees long lasting, reliable performance.
Industrial Boiler Burners in Standard Emission, Low Emission or Ultra-Low Emission Models
Webster’s line of industrial boiler burners includes standard emission, low emission and ultra-low emission models, offering gas-only or multi-fuel options. Each class and model delivers high efficiency with high turndown.
With turndown rates as high as 12 to 1 for Natural gas, Webster’s HDS and HDS(X) High Swirl burners offer the same benefits as our proven HDRV technology, with new firing heads and other component improvements to enhance turndown and lower emissions, especially in Scotch Marine Firetube boiler burner applications.
Webster’s HDFX Series burner can achieve single-digit ultra-low NOx emissions in boilers without the use of Flue Gas Recirculation (FGR). HDFX ultra-low NOx burners utilize fiber mesh, surface combustion technology that covers a range from 10HP up to 1,000HP. The HDFX operates by premixing fuel and air to precise levels, which ensures complete combustion with very low levels of NOx, CO and unburned hydrocarbons. The firing head is made of a proven all metallic fiber mesh that guarantees long lasting, reliable performance.
Webster’s FDR(X) Forced Draft Register burner is a highly efficient combustion system for power plants that combines a windbox, air register, ignition assembly, fuel train, flame safety control, combustion control, FGR (Flue Gas Recirculation) system, and a forced draft blower, all assembled into one complete packaged unit.
Webster’s FDR(X) burners come in two versions: FDR for standard emissions and FDRX for low emissions. They are available in single or multifuel models and can operate on variety of fuels including natural, LP, coke oven, refinery and low BTU gases, as well as fuel oils ranging from diesel fuel to heavy viscous fuels such as No. 6 oil on up to asphalt and tail oils.
