Course Description:

This course is intended for anyone who wants to use a control system to monitor, troubleshoot, and manage a commercial building.  This class is an advanced look at LONG systems for everyday use.

Overview:

This course will introduce the student to network basics, Niagara concepts and terminology. In this course, the student will learn how to access a control system using a standard internet browser or java web-start.  The class will go over alarms monitoring and management via the browser interface.  We will cover practical use of histories and scheduling features along with user management.  Students will discover advanced features using java web-start.  This course is advanced owner/user training.

Course Prerequisites:

  • Working knowledge of Windows OS

Course Objectives:

  • Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:

    • Understand how to access your HVAC system via a standard internet browser
    • Understand how to access your HVAC system using java web-start which will include browser programming features
    • Understand controller relationships in a controls system
    • Understand how to use LONG control drawings
    • Manage and use Histories charts, exports, and databases
    • Manage users
    • Manage schedules
    • Manage alarms via an alarm console

What You Will Receive:

Upon the completion of this course students will receive a Certificate of Completion and individual test scores.  We will provide course materials including user guides, and product data sheets where applicable.  Successful completion of this course may unlock other LONG offered classes.  Breakfast (coffee and donuts) and lunch will be provided each day.
