LONG Building Intelligence, a division of LONG Building Technologies, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Application Engineer
Education and Experience:
- 2 year tech school
- 2 year temperature controls engineering design experience
Skills:
- Possesses and demonstrates good interpersonal, customer relations, verbal and written communication and computer skills
- Mechanically oriented with a complete understanding of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems
- A complete understanding of control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, fire alarm and smoke removal systems
- A complete understanding of engineering, installation and construction procedures
- Maintains a high level of performance and increases technical knowledge, compentencies and awareness relevant to all business unit activities
Typical job duties include the following:
- Completes assigned project engineering within sales budget
- Works to ensure that LONG is fairly compensated for all work including that performed outside contractural obligations
- Attends project kick-off meetings for assigned projects
- Works with several members of LONG personnel, equipment manufacturers and the mechanical contractor to resolve system/equipment discrepancies and concerns in order to prepare concise and accurate submittals and engineering drawings
- Timely submission of completed system drawings to the project manager for submittal and assists in the submittal process as required
- Designs control systems on assigned projects to meet the criteria of contract and specifications and minimizes installation problems and maximizes profits
- Prepares control system designs as specified by mechanical engineer
- Provides the engineered system drawings to the application engineer supervisor
- identifies and discusses with sales and operations maangement any conflicts between job specs, sales estimate and LONG standards before preparing engineering drawings and submittals
- Prepares concise and accurate submittals in a timely fashion within budget for assigned projects
- Provides engineering support for field installation and technical personnel
- Receives as built documentation from the project manager and prepares final "As Built" system drawings in an timely, efficient manner for distribution to project managers
Miscellaneous:
- Timely and accurate time card reporting
- Works well with project managers, customers, application engineers, sales and technicians

LONG Building Intelligence, our temperature controls/ building automation group, has immediate openings for Control Service Technicians. The ideal candidate possesses these qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- 2 year tech school and 5 years related experience or 8 years related experience
- DDC Temperature Controls
- Access/Security Controls
- CCTV/DVR Systems
Skills:
- Extensive HVAC, mechanical/electrical systems knowledge, and control/interlock wiring knowledge.
- Experience in the programming and troubleshooting of DDC HVAC control systems (including pneumatics), access control systems, and CCTV systems.
- Great customer service skills.
Typical job duties include the following:
- Perform maintenance services on all types of systems.
- Perform factory authorized equipment start up and warranty repairs on various types of HVAC equipment.
- Perform system start up and commissioning on all types of systems.
- Perform factory authorized start up and warranty repairs.
- Perform owner training on various systems and equipment.
- Perform after hours emergency service o na rotating on call basis. Rotation will be based on a available staff.

LONG Energy Solutions, a division of LONG Building Technologies, is looking for Energy Engineers with demonstrated ability to apply their knowledge in energy engineering and analysis. The successful candidates will assist the Director of Energy Engineering in completing our technical projects.
Education and Experience:
- At least one year applied energy engineering, analysis and/or project management experience preferred.
- FE or EIT desired; Technical graduate degree, CEM, LEED, AP or otgher accreditations a plus.
Typical job duties include the following:
- Perform engineering analysis and field work for energy audits, energy modeling, measurement and verification (M&V), Cx, RCx, sustainable design and LEED certifications and renewable energy projects.
- Involvement on projects from initial analysis through project development and then maintain involvement as needed through implementation.
- Participate in meetins with both technical and non-technical clients including discussions regarding energy engineering or sustainable design solutions.
- Support sales and proposal efforts from an engineering and technical perspective.
- Maintain a high level of organization to improve technical services regarding energy efficiency and sustainable design, in-house project management, field work and value delivered clients.
